What is Pneumatic Fender?

Pneumatic fenders are a kind of fender comprised with a cylindrical rubber airbag as its fender body with hemispherical heads at both ends. The body construction consists of several layers vulcanized rubber, filled with compressed air through which the fender will float on the water.

Pneumatic fenders are usually protected with a net of tyres and chains around it. They are called net type pneumatic fenders.

The other type has no this protection net and it is called a Sling Type Pneumatic fender.

Another type pneumatic fender is for submarines when they are berthing to a jetty. It is vertically installed and filled with some water and equipped with a counterweight to sink most part of the fender into water. It is called a hydro-pneumatic fender.

Pneumatic fenders have 2 different inside pressure levels to cover a wide performance range and various sizes:Diameters ranging from 300 mm to 4.500 mm and length ranging from 500 mm to 10.500 mm. Users can choose suitable pressure and sizes according to applications.
