Repair Instruction of Rubber Airbags

Breakage form of rubber airbags normally have 3 kinds:Longitudinal

cracks,Transverse cracks,nail hole.

We can repair if there is local damage,repair steps below:

Preparation:

a. Clean rubber airbags by water(soak time less than 10 mins),confirm there is no dirt, oil and other stains,then wait airbags dry.

b.Prepare enough synthetic fabric rubber plate(the best to buy from supplier) and rubber

Repair work:

a.mark the repair area,normally extend 200-260mm each side by the local damage

b.Polish (a) area until can see the synthetic fabric(not damage the fabric)

c.Suture fracture if big cracks(pinhole is located 30mm away from the crack,Suture needle spacing 100mm)

d.clean (a area) surface by gasoline,then wait until dry.

e.Mix rubber and gasoline(rubber:gasoline=1:5),then spray on (a area) surface

f.Choose 10 mm thickness rubber belt stick to cracks.

g.spray gasoline and wait dry

h.Laying synthetic fabric rubber plate(rounded handle),the fabric perpendicular to crack.

i.repeat (g) step

j.Laying synthetic fabric rubber plate(rounded handle) at ±30°by the last layer.

k.Repeat (i&j) step,until laying same layers synthetic fabric rubber plate with the airbags,in this progress,the rubber plate should be big than last layer.

L.use repair tool to hot vulcanization,if the crack is too big,Sequential superimposed vulcanization

Test

Check if surface have already repaired successfully,then do pressure test,repaired airbags need to reduce its working pressure when use.

Rubber airbags which are not suitable to be repaired

A. leave factory more than 8 years

B. Blasting by exceeding rated working pressure in violation of operation regulations

C. Rubber airbags broken badly.
