Air bag breakage form generally can be divided into longitudinal cracks,transverse crack, nailholeif there is just a local damage, Air bag can be repaired, the steps below:

Repairdmethod and steps of LuHang marine airbag

1. Material required

1) Unvulcanized synthetic-tyre-cord fabric with crude rubber: it means a kind of crude rubber cover consisted of reinforced fiber (synthetic-tyre-cord).

2) Crude rubber

3) Vulcanization plate

4) No.93 gasoline

5) Iron plate x 2 (the same size with vulcanization plate)

6) Polishing machine

7) Lifting jack

8) Hairbrush

9) Thermometer (more than 200℃)

2. Repair method

Step 1: Mix 60g gasoline and 10g crude rubber into a smooth paste, as shown

Step 2: Arrange 6-7 layers of unvulcanized synthetic-tyre-cord fabric with crude rubber in row and column form. Before doing this step, clean each layer using gasoline.

Step 3: Polish the surface of thebreakage until the tyre cord shown.Attention that do not damage thetyre cord.No.93 Gasoline Paste: 60g gasoline and 10g crude rubber

Step 4: Brush the mixture which is prepared by step 1 around the tyre cord fabric.Then paste the tyre cord fabric on the breakage of airbag. As shown in thepicturebelow:Note: A simple working platform and a II-type frame will be needed during thermal vulcanization process.The pressure of lifting jack should be 10-20Kg/m 2 (more than 25 Ton). Tile the deflated airbag on the platform, do what is required by step 3.

Step 5: Put 3 plates on the breakage in order, the vulcanization plate in middle of2.hot iron plates.

Step 6: Place the II-type frame on the top of 3 plates and then put the lifting jack on the frame until compaction. As shown below:

Step 7: Using 220V power to power on the vulcanizationplate in both faces, it will start to heat up.

Step 8: Put the thermometer on the vulcanization plate and watch the increase of temperature, turn off the power when it reaches to 150-160℃.Keep watching the change of thermometer, take the jack off when thetemperaturedrop to 60-70℃.The repair work is done.Contact us if the size of breakage is too big to repair.

3. Check

Check whether mend bonding tightly, internal no bubble, delaminating, sponge. etc. Don't exist aging crack phenomenon at heating area of rubber. Do pressure experiment after surface is ok, test pressure must not exceed the rated pressure

Warning: repaired airbag, should reduce the pressure of work
