EVA foam: What is E.V.A.?

EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) is a polymer that approaches elastomeric mateirals in softness and flexibility, yet can be processed like other thermoplastics. The mateiral has good calrity and golss, baarrier properties, low-temperature toughness, stress-crack resistance, hot-melt adhesive, water-proof properties and reisistance to UV radiation. EVA has little or no odor and is competitive with rubber and vinyl products in many electrical applications.

EVA is one of the materials popularly known as expanded rubber or foam rubber. It is typically used as a shock absorbor in sports shoes. It is used for the manufacture of marine floats and dock fenders.
