Marine Pneumatic Rubber Fenders
Marine Pneumatic Rubber Fenders are known as Yokohama fenders or Yokohama-type pneumatic fenders.Marine Pneumatic Rubber Fender is a device installed on ships or dock facilities to cushion the impact of collisions between ships and docks, or between ships.
Description
Marine Pneumatic Rubber Fender
Products Description
Fenders are constructed from synthetic - cord - reinforced rubber sheets and are filled with compressed air. This internal air filling serves a crucial dual purpose. Firstly, it allows the fender to float on the water's surface. Secondly, when two ships are approaching each other or when a ship is coming alongside a berthing structure, these fenders act as shock absorbers. They effectively cushion the impact, protecting both the ships and the berthing structures from damage that could otherwise occur due to the force of the contact.
Classification

Fender Pressure Rating
There are two initial pressure rating for our Pneumatic Rubber Fenders.
■ Pneumatic 50 (P50, Initial internal pressure 50kPa)
■ Pneumatic 80 (P80, Initial internal pressure 80kPa)
Pneumatic Fender Type
There are two common types our Pneumatic Rubber Fenders.
■ Type I - Net Type Covered with a chain net, wire net, or fiber net for small size fenders
■ Type II - Sling Type This type of fender has a lifting device on each end, which shall be connected with a guy chain or guy-rope. Without a protection net, easy to handle with lightweight)
Fender's Protection Net Type
Net - type fenders (TypeⅠ) feature a covering of either a chain net, wire net, or fiber net. The longitudinal elements of these nets, be it chains, wires, or fibers, have each end joined together by one or two rings. These rings are then connected to a guy chain or guy - rope.
Typically, to offer extra protection to the fender body, these nets are used in combination with tires and rubber sleeves. However, in the case of fiber nets, only rubber sleeves are employed for this purpose.
Among these different types of nets, chain nets possess a greater resistance to corrosion, which means they have a longer lifespan in marine environments where corrosion is a significant concern. On the other hand, wire nets are lightweight, making them easier to handle and install. Additionally, wire nets have the advantage of being more easily repaired when damaged, allowing for quick restoration of the fender's functionality. This variety in net materials provides ship owners and operators with options to choose the net - type fender that best suits their specific needs, whether it's durability against corrosion, ease of handling, or cost - effective repair capabilities.
Construction

Outer Rubber Layer for Enhanced Protection
The outer rubber layer serves the crucial purpose of safeguarding the cord layers and the inner rubber. The rubber compound used in this layer is formulated to have adequate tensile and tear resistance strength. This enables it to endure the expected weather conditions and the rigors of heavy usage.
High - Quality Synthetic - Tyre - Cord Layer
The reinforcing synthetic - tyre - cord layer is engineered to be robust enough to maintain the internal air pressure within the fender. Meanwhile, the inner rubber layer functions as a seal, keeping the pressurized air contained inside the fender.
Safety Valve for Larger Pneumatic Fenders
Pneumatic fenders with a diameter of 2500 mm or larger are fitted with a safety valve. This valve is designed to release any excess internal pressure, ensuring the safety and integrity of the fender. For smaller fenders, a safety valve can be installed upon request.
Chain and Tire Net Pneumatic Rubber Fenders
The exterior chain and tire net offer additional protection for the rubber fender body. We can utilize truck tires, fiber nets, or aircraft tires for this purpose. These components can be easily replaced, providing flexibility and convenience in maintenance and customization.
Specification

Qualified Marine Pneumatic Rubber Fender
ISO certificated with a number of patents on products
Pneumatic rubber fenders have been inspected and approved by Third-Party like CCS, BV, SGS, V-Trust etc with excellent performance of high energy absorption and low force reaction and airtightness.
FAQ

What's the difference with Yokohama Fenders?
The pneumatic fenders have sometimes been colloquially referred to as "Yokohama fenders" or "Yokohama type fenders". Because the Yokohama pneumatic fender was developed in 1958 by Yokohama Rubber Co.,Ltd based on their rubber technology for automotive tires and rubber aircraft fuel tanks. It is the initial maker of this type pneumatic fenders.
What certificates can you provide?
| CCS/BV/ABS/SGS |
What is the service life of fenders?
The service life is 20 years. Metal parts need to be anti-corrosive every year. The life of the galvanized layer in seawater is 5 years. It is related to the proportion of natural rubber in rubber, the quality of carbon black, the proportion of antioxidants, etc.
Can other colors be customized??
The normal color is black, and other colored rubber can be made if the quantity is large enough. The total rubber weight reaches more than 1 ton.
